286-252: Hey, I was pretty close
Iowa, the last of the two former blue state holdouts (the other being New Mexico), has finally been called for President Bush. That means the final EC count is 286 for President Bush and 252 for Kerry. My prediction (posted elsewhere) was Bush winning the EC and popular votes with Kerry not breaking 250 EC votes. I didn't predict exact numbers because I didn't really feel like doing the math. Had Kerry not carried New Hampshire, as President Bush did in 2000, then Kerry wouldn't have made it past 250 EC votes.

Well, I came pretty close, too. My prediction (not posted anywhere) was that the President would get at least 300 EC (not close) and would win by 3-5% of the popular vote (actual was 3%). I really thought Kerry would lose Wisconsin after referring to Lambeau Field as Lambert Field. I also thought Bush would squeak out a victory in MN, but the Leftists voted for Kerry instead of Nader this time around. Oh, well. I'll settle for . . . FOUR MORE YEARS!
