The Beeb corrects stats on deaths in Iraq
The Most Impudent One reports on a BBC correction that will definitely not make the Bush-bashers happy (if they even see it, which is doubtful, and believe it, which is even more doubtful):
The BBC has apologised for incorrectly broadcasting figures which suggested more Iraqi civilians had been killed by coalition and Iraqi forces than by insurgents.
...the Iraqi Ministry of Health then clarified that the figures included not just civilians, but also insurgents and Iraqi security forces. And it said that the phrase "military operations" referred to Iraqis killed by insurgents as well as coalition or Iraqi forces. The ministry said the BBC had misinterpreted the figures...
Now, if only a correction would be issued by the responsible parties on that bogus "100,000 deaths" figure onto which the Bush-bashers have latched.
