Media Matters tries (and fails) to paint CBS as conservative

Anyone with at least two brain cells to knock together knows that CBS has had a liberal bias. I guess that explains why the conservative-hating Media Matters is trying to prove that the "fake, but accurate" news organization is actually conservative. This claim is laughable simply on its face (especially after Rathergate), but their "evidence" - counting the number of times Republicans and Democrats have appeared on the "CBS Evening NEWS" - is a joke! The excellent RatherBiased.com invests as much time and effort as is necessary (i.e. not much) to debunk the claim:
Of the 23 times Cluchey counted videos of these senators, only 3 times were they quoted as saying something that was either pro-Bush or conservative. Eight times, they were showed saying something anti-Bush or anti-conservative. The other 12 video clips of the senators featured them opining on the legislative process or on non-political subjects such as steroid use among baseball players.

Cluchey's flawed analytical model of not looking closely at context also prevented him from counting two reporter summaries of McCain's statement that he has "no confidence" in Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld. In the course of applying the peer-review that George Soros should have paid for, we also noticed that Cluchey did not provide context for any McCain remarks or many other senatorial statements (see table below). RatherBiased.com also observed that the MM "study" jumbles the dates and issues in the context it does manage to provide.

RatherBiased also cites an insightful comment by a reader:
The study takes place during the time period immediately following the forged documents incident, immediately after the election and during the Iraqi election success. Find any station where the Republicans didn't look good during this time period. You can make stuff up all you want, fake a memo here, but the facts is the facts.

Media Matters is full of it and only the most insane "dedicated" liberals continue to use it as a reliable source.
