Cargill reinstates and apologizes to Luis Padilla
In a complete reversal and then some, Cargill has not only rehired Luis Padilla with full benefits, but has given him back pay, issued an apology and erased the incident from his records. They will also be releasing a new company policy regarding employee expression. Hallelujah!
Mr. Padilla had this to say, which I completely agree with:
"For me, this was about honor and freedom and justice," Padilla said. "Even though there may be some who believe differently, I would never treat anyone unfairly because of that, and I expect the same fair treatment from them. That is the American dream."
