Study proves Republicans are mentally ill

Or so you would think given this far-left article and the far-left loons who are crowing about it on this Democrat Underground thread. It's all bullcaca.

First off, the sampling size is grossly illegitimate. 69 people in just three locations in one state? No proper study by a credible researcher would use such a poor sampling size. The timeline is also just as poor: only one election.

Second, this was a study of OUTPATIENTS - i.e. people who are most assuredly on medication to help keep them sane. This means that the conclusions liberals are drawing about the study are 100% wrong and it's actually the SANER people who are more likely to support President Bush.

Finally, the original article disproves the liberals' conclusions:
But before you go thinking all your conservative friends are psychotic, listen to Lohse’s explanation.

“Our study shows that psychotic patients prefer an authoritative leader,” Lohse says. “If your world is very mixed up, there’s something very comforting about someone telling you, ‘This is how it’s going to be.’”

Which means not only that all conservatives aren't psychotic (as the liberals are claiming by putting the cart before the horse), but that Democrats aren't viewed as authoritative leaders (which we all knew already).
